Associate Attorney
Laura Gano is an Associate Attorney at Dellino Family Law Group. She approaches family law with clarity, steadiness, and a future-focused perspective rooted in the belief that while you cannot change the beginning, you can change what comes next. Laura helps clients move beyond the weight of the past and toward building a stable, intentional foundation for the life they are stepping into.
My Approach
There is a quote on my office wall by C.S. Lewis:
“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the future.”
Divorce has a way of anchoring people to the past. The past arguments. The past hurt. The past inequities. Sometimes, even the grief of a marriage that did not become what it was hoped to be.
That grief is real. But the past is not where you will find your power.
I help my clients lift their focus toward the future. Divorce is not about getting even. It is not about revenge. It is about building a stable and intentional foundation for the life you are stepping into next.
That does not mean overlooking inequities. It means addressing them with clarity and resolve so that you are positioned well financially, practically, and as a parent. When resolution is possible, I pursue it with purpose. When firmness is necessary, I bring it without hesitation.
Family transitions are not abstract legal problems. They are turning points in the lives of real people. My role is steady and clear: protect what matters, resolve what can be resolved, and help you move forward stronger, more certain, and prepared for what comes next.
Background
I was born in New Mexico and grew up in several Western states, but the Seattle area has been home since I began college at the University of Washington. I earned my law degree from Seattle University while raising three children, a hectic and joyful period that taught me resilience, discipline, and a deep understanding of the complexities of family life.
Those experiences shape how I practice today. Balancing law school and motherhood required focus, grit, and perspective. I understand firsthand how layered family life can be and how much is at stake when it changes.
About Me
I live on Bainbridge Island with my partner, three cats, and two birds. I feel fortunate to call the Pacific Northwest home. When I am not working, I am usually near the water, spending time with my grown children, and appreciating the quiet beauty of this place we get to live.
