Attorney, Dellino Family Law Group
Mark Derricott brings a people-first outlook to family law. He guides clients through some of the hardest moments of their lives with patience, curiosity, and steady care.
His Approach
Mark has always thought lawyers fall into two camps: those who love to draft easements, and those who like people. He is firmly in the second camp. Family law gives him all the human connection he could ask for, with plenty of technical legal issues too. Most of the people he meets are facing something hard and unfamiliar. He sees his job as taking their hand and guiding them through it, from the first conversation to the final order. He wants to be the one who helps his clients get to the other side.
Background
Mark earned his B.A. in History from the University of Utah and his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law.
He started out in transactional and real estate work, which taught him quickly that drafting airtight agreements was not where his heart was. Public defense came next, and that’s where he found what he loves most about practicing law: the people. He has focused on family law since 2019. Mark is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Kitsap County Bar Association.
About Mark
Mark lives in Bremerton. Away from work, you’ll find him walking his dog, Luke, hiking, camping, or on a stormy, empty beach. When he needs to change things up, he studies ontology, epistemology, languages, math, and chemistry. He believes in naps and long nights of sleep, and he cheers for the Seahawks and the Mariners.
