Tukwila, WA is listed as the 2nd most dangerous city in the United States, according to a recent report. An online news article describes this new discovery.
Safewise.com is the home security consultant group that issued the report and utilized FBI statistics for research. Data reportedly shows that in 2013 there were 8.29 violent crimes and 167.42 property crimes for every 1,000 people in Tukwila. These numbers put Tukwila as the second most dangerous city in the country, second to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Reportedly, the national average is 3.67 incidents of violent crimes and 27.30 property crimes per 1,000 people, highlighting that Tukwila’s numbers are significant and alarming. Of note, there may be some skewed variables to consider about the study. Namely, the report indicates some cities that have been noted on other lists were removed from consideration due to the FBI not receiving complete crime data.
Nevertheless, seeing a local city top the list of most dangerous in the United States is alarming and unfortunate. For more details on the SafeWise report, please click here.
