Associate Attorney

Emily Howlett is an Associate Attorney at Dellino Family Law Group where she handles an array of family and domestic relations matters. Prior to joining Dellino Family Law Group, Emily was a solo practitioner with a long practice history in domestic relations in Washington State courts, most of the Pacific Northwest Tribal courts, and in working with populations that have not been able to traditionally access the justice system. She has experience in handling family and domestic relation matters when complex areas arise including jurisdictional issues, domestic violence, the intersection of dependency and family laws, elder abuse, and highly complex family structures. Emily also has experience in domestic violence and sexual abuse cases, special education, school disciplinary issues, minor and adult guardianships, and with At Risk Youth petitions.

My Approach

I love to find practical and cooperative solutions that leave clients and their family in a better and healthier place than they were when their lives were turned upside down. When this is not possible, I am not afraid to litigate. I build relationships and trust with my clients, and it is imperative to me that my clients know that they can trust me as a person of integrity and as a fierce advocate for their interests. I have an absolute passion for social justice issues and love to see families protected and stronger than where they started. Life is rarely simple or clean and changes to family structures can be the most stressful time in someone’s lives. I strive to make sure that I understand the underlying complexities of my client and their families, so that we are working on solutions that are a true fit for their unique lives. I will also always happily listen to my clients about their children, their interests, how cute they are, and why they deserve the best.  Your life and your family matter. With approximately 12 years of practice in tribal courts and many areas of public interest law work, I am very adept at fashioning creative and culturally competent solutions for clients.

Background

I am a life-long resident of Western Washington. When not working, I am busy with my two beautiful boys, gardening, cooking, reading, or on horseback.  I love to travel and consider myself a life-long student of this world.
